At Gentle Path ABA, we understand that beginning services can feel overwhelming. Our intake process is designed to be supportive, collaborative, and respectful, ensuring every individual and family feels heard, valued, and understood.
Our goal is not just to gather information but to learn about your child’s unique strengths, needs, and what matters most to your family, so we can create a truly individualized and meaningful treatment plan.
I may observe your child in natural settings such as the home, clinic, or community. Based on your child’s needs, we may conduct assessments to better understand skill development, learning style, and behavior. Some assessments used may be as follows:
Skill and developmental assessments (such as VB-MAPP, ABLLS-R, or AFLS)
Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA) to understand the purpose of behaviors
Preference assessments to identify motivating activities and interests
Adaptive and daily living skills assessments
Assessments are selected thoughtfully and used to guide care not label or define your child.
At Gentle Path ABA, meeting each child exactly where they are means more than tailoring goals it means honoring the whole child and the environments that shape their everyday life. Children learn best when they feel safe, understood, and supported in the places that matter most to them.
By offering services across home, community, school, daycare, outings, and telehealth, we ensure support is meaningful, practical, and naturally integrated into daily routines. This approach helps children practice skills in real-life settings, making progress more functional and long-lasting.
Providing care in familiar environments also allows us to:
Support natural routines and transitions
Collaborate closely with caregivers, educators, and other providers
Promote consistency across settings
Reduce stress by meeting children in spaces where they feel most comfortable
Flexibility in service locations allows us to adapt to each family’s unique needs while maintaining the same compassionate, individualized care. Whether supporting a child at home, navigating a community outing, or collaborating within a school setting, our focus remains on dignity, respect, and meaningful growth.
